I want to tell you about Malcolm Kenyatta, John, and why he may surprise you on May 17th.
Malcolm is running to be the first Black man elected to the U.S. Senate from Pennsylvania. If he wins this race, he will also be the first openly LGBTQIA+ Black man to serve in the Senate.
For the last year Malcolm has been barnstorming across the commonwealth, where his story is resonating with both urban and rural communities.
Malcolm comes from a working poor family where he tragically lost both his parents before the age of 27 due to them rationing their medicine to be able to pay bills and put food on the table.
So much crucial legislation hangs in the balance in the Senate right now; progress that could help millions of folks just like Malcolm’s parents.
Instead, a handful of conservative Democratic senators are holding voting rights, abortion care, and the entire Build Back Better agenda hostage.
As Malcolm often says: to fundamentally change the Senate, we need to change the Senators.
We couldn’t agree more! That’s why we’re working to build a progressive majority in the U.S. Senate. Will you split a contribution between Malcolm’s historic campaign and Brand New Congress right now? [[link removed]]

Pennsylvania State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta is the first openly LGBTQ person of color – and one of the youngest people – elected to the PA General Assembly.
As a legislator, he’s fought to end generational poverty, raise the minimum wage, protect workers' rights, increase access to mental healthcare, stem the rise of gun violence, and protect our digital infrastructure.
His unapologetically progressive campaign and strong labor ties have attracted a number of prominent endorsements, including the SEIU – which normally stays out of primary races to support the eventual nominee.
This race for retiring Republican Senator Pat Toomey’s seat is wide open. We now have the opportunity not only to make this historic election a reality, but to fundamentally shift the center of gravity in the U.S. Senate.
Help us flip this Senate seat and put an end to Joe Manchin’s power trip by electing the progressive swing vote. Split a contribution between Malcolm and Brand New Congress now. [[link removed]]

Since 2016 BNC has led the way in advancing popular policies like Medicare for All and the Green New Deal. We invest EARLY to help grassroots candidates succeed. We recruited and elected AOC in 2018 and Cori Bush in 2020 alongside Jamaal Bowman and Rashida Tliab. And we have our first win of 2022: Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick won her primary by FIVE votes thanks to BNC.
We have elections from now until November, and our candidates are counting on your support. Pitch in today and join us as we take over Congress and return power to the people.
