# [#] John,
Today marks an important day for our movement towards equality. 50 years ago today, Congress passed the Equal Rights Amendment, sending it to the states for ratification.
Now, we have the necessary ratification of thirty-eight states but the ERA has yet to become part of our Constitution. Why? Because of a Trump-era legal memo blocking its recognition.

Almost one hundred years after the introduction of the ERA, we have yet to constitutionally ban discrimination on the basis of sex. The ERA is a necessity in a governmental system that was never set up to treat women as equals.
We must join together and show that we will not stop fighting until the Equal Rights Amendment is part of our country’s constitution.
Carolyn is fighting for equality in Congress, and she won’t back down until we achieve it. Join her in this fight by adding your name now. [[link removed]]
