Montana farming and ranching is the backbone of our local economy.

Hey friend,

Today is National Agriculture Day. Everything we eat, use, and wear all starts with agriculture -- and today we celebrate the hardworking farmers and ranchers across the country who help make that possible.

Agriculture is the largest industry in Montana. I’ve had the privilege of traveling the district and meeting with many of the farmers and ranchers who’ve dedicated their lives to help feed our country. Their hard work and dedication contributes almost $5.2 billion to our economy annually, making it an integral part of Montana and American life. In my rural health work, I am grateful to partner with farmers and ranchers in keeping our communities healthy and look forward to continuing this work in Congress.

Unfortunately, external threats are making it harder for family farms and businesses to secure their future here. Higher land prices, extreme drought, corporate processing, and increased turbulence in the industry are discouraging young people from taking over family farms and ranches. Some families are even selling their soil-rich land to developers to help repay their debts. We cannot afford to let this trend continue.

Montana’s farmers and ranchers are the backbone of our economy. They need a representative who’s willing to work with them and advocate for them -- not force them into giving up their land to avoid foreclosure.

I’m prepared to go to bat for the farmers and ranchers in our community, but I can’t do it without your help. Can you chip in $3 today to help support my campaign for Congress? I’m committed to making sure our farmers and ranchers have a seat at the table.
