One of the many reasons that we’re proud to be on Team Ford is because of Aaron’s strong track record of delivering for Nevada women. In light of Women’s History Month, we put together a rundown of recent actions that the General has taken to defend the rights of women across the Silver State:

Ensuring Equal Access to Birth Control

After the Trump Administration refused to defend the provision of the Affordable Care Act that required employer-provided health insurance include coverage for birth control, Aaron filed to intervene to ensure equal access to birth control for Nevada women. The General was successful in his efforts, protecting nearly 400,000 Nevadans who receive private insurance.

Increasing Resources for Sexual Assault Survivors

Aaron is working hard on multiple fronts to support victims and survivors of sexual assault. From clearing the backlog of thousands of previously untested sexual assault kits, to awarding grants for victim services that enhance victim safety and hold offenders accountable, he is making sure survivors receive the resources they need at every step of the process of healing and seeking justice.

Protecting Trans Youth

The General has, on multiple occasions, joined in coalitions with fellow state attorneys general in challenging unconstitutional laws restricting access to gender-affirming health care for transgender youth and teens. He knows that discriminatory laws like the ones popping up across the country have a detrimental effect on the mental health and quality of life of trans youth — and is actively working to shield Nevada teens from these laws.

Defending Roe v. Wade

We’ve seen multiple statehouses put new unconstitutional laws on the books restricting, or basically eliminating, access to abortion in their states. AG Ford has been an aggressive opponent to any attempt to overturn Roe v. Wade , joining a coalition of dozens of other attorneys general urging the Supreme Court to uphold a person’s right to choose.

These are just a sampling of all the work AG Ford and his office are doing to protect and uplift Nevada women, but all of this work might be lost if Republicans are successful in reclaiming this seat. That’s why we’re working so hard to ensure Aaron can build on this progress in the years to come.
