Friend, today is World Water Day!
As we celebrate the importance of clean water, and count down to the U.S. Clean Water Act’s 50th anniversary in October, we’re excited to officially roll out our ACT50 initiative to rally the nation in support of this bedrock environmental law and to inspire worldwide ACTION for clean water.
Although we’ve had much success, many waterways are still being impaired by pollution. From your hometown, to communities around the globe, water is being threatened by poor policy and planning. A fully enforced and strong Clean Water Act will reflect governments' need to lead and the importance of engagement on all levels, in every part of the world.
That’s why we chose today to roll out our NEW dynamic ACT50 website, where you can learn more, help us stop threats to our waterways, find local events, and so much more!
We don’t always see the problems until they rise to the surface. That’s why we must unite our voices and work together for sustainable solutions.

Before the Clean Water Act was passed in 1972, U.S. waters were severely contaminated by sewage, trash, oil, and toxic industrial pollution.
Today, the Act has dramatically reduced pollution and improved water quality, but progress is threatened by deregulation, lack of enforcement, and other serious problems. This statute turns 50 in October — and we’re raising every voice we can to RESTORE this vital law! Help us make the Clean Water Act a model of modern environmental stewardship.
When you visit our NEW interactive ACT50 website right now, you’ll find: ([link removed])
* An immersive history lesson covering major clean water moments from the last 50 years to today;
* An interactive map of key Clean Water Act victories;
* Our PLAN for restoring the Clean Water Act and defending clean waters in the United States;
* Opportunities to take online grassroots actions that matter;
* In-person clean water events in your own backyard; and
* THE place to snag your ACT50 swag!
We’re SO excited to be launching ACT50 for World Water Day!
And Friend, I hope you’ll mark the occasion by checking out our new ACT50 site today → ([link removed])
Thank you for getting involved! And for supporting our global movement to protect everyone’s right to clean water.
