I am the only candidate in this race who supports expanding the Supreme Court, so we can protect our freedoms from being snatched away by an extremist rightwing minority. Please chip in a couple bucks now to help me fight for legislation in the House to expand the Court. [[link removed]]

The size of the Supreme Court has changed seven times before in US history. In fact, changing the Court’s size is a 200+ year-old American tradition.

If Democrats want to protect civil, gender, racial, and reproductive rights, they should expand the Court NOW. That’s why I support legislation to do so.

Additionally, let’s consider the history. In the 19th century, there were nine justices because each one oversaw one of nine judicial regions (“circuits”) in the country. Now there are 13 circuits, but we still only have nine justices. 13 justices for 13 circuits would be a sensible change to make.

We need 13 justices. We need to stop letting rightwing extremists run roughshod over our rights. We need to protect civil rights, voting rights, same-sex marriage rights, reproductive freedom, and more.
