Dear Friend,

Let’s make some history and get Judge Kentanji Brown Jackson confirmed to
the United States Supreme Court right away!

[ [link removed] ]→ Sign now! Ask your U.S. Senator to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown
Jackson to the United States Supreme Court without delay.

What’s happening?

Last month, coinciding with the end of Black History Month, President
Biden made a historical announcement nominating Judge Ketanji Brown
Jackson to the Supreme Court of the United States. This week the Senate
will start holding confirmation hearings and we need to urge the Senate to
act quickly to confirm the extraordinarily well qualified Judge Jackson
without delay. And given how the Senate’s been acting lately, they need a
push.

the United States Supreme Court without delay.

If confirmed, Judge Jackson would be the first Black woman to serve as a
justice on the Supreme Court. This is significant and speaks to the need
for our courts to reflect the diversity of this nation, and be composed
of justices who have demonstrated a commitment to protecting all people
from all of our communities.

Did you know that only two of the nine sitting justices belong to a racial
minority, [1] only three of the nine justices are women and [2] and a
Black woman nominee would be only the third Black person nominated to
serve in this role? Not only would Judge Jackson be a significant addition
to the court but confirming Judge Jackson would demonstrate our nation’s
forward progression towards equity and equal justice.

the United States Supreme Court without delay.

We can’t take this confirmation for granted, not given the way some
Senators have insisted on playing politics with the Supreme Court.

Already there’s been a lot of conversation surrounding this historic
nomination and in the coming weeks, you’re going to hear more. What we
know is there is overwhelming support for Judge Jackson but there are
those who choose to attack Judge Jackson’s record, her qualifications and
her character.

This is unacceptable. We must combat the misinformation and disinformation
targeting Judge Jackon and instead uplift her record as a fair-minded
jurist who will no doubt strengthen our highest courts commitment to
fairness. Judge Jackson is well-qualified and has experience as a federal
appellate judge, a federal district court judge, a member of the U.S.
Sentencing Commission, an attorney in private practice, and as a federal
public defender.

For far too long, women, Black women and people of color who are nominated
for, hold elected positions, or are in positions of power have faced
unfair and unnecessary media coverage and criticism using racist, sexist
and discriminatory rhetoric. It’s up to us to combat those racist and
sexist stereotypes by making sure we have accurate information and we’re
sharing accurate information about Judge Jackson’s qualifications and
record.

And we’re here to help!

[ [link removed] ]Sign now to demand Judge Jackson receives a fair and equitable hearing
for confirmation to the Supreme Court of the United States.

As the hearings progress over the next we’ll be here to share facts and
information on Judge Kentanji Brown Jackson. As one of our nation’s
brightest minds with broad experience and support from both sides of the
aisle, the choice is easy, the Senate should vote YES to confirm Judge
Jackson to the Supreme Court of the United States.

The selection process was meticulous, input was solicited from legal
experts and both parties and President Biden made the right choice. Judge
Jackson’s track record speaks for itself, not only has Judge Jackson
authored about 600 decisions during her judicial service but she has more
judicial experience than four current Justices had when they were
nominated. And that’s combined!  [3]  Judge Jackson is a careful
decision-maker and will be a Judge in the vein of her mentor, Justice
Breyer, who served with wisdom and a deep understanding of the
Constitution.

Judge Jackson has received support and praise from the civil and human
rights community, colleagues in the judiciary, academia, the law
enforcement community and many more. Judge Jackson’s distinguished and
impressive career makes her an exceptional choice to be an associate
justice on the Supreme Court of the United States.

to the Supreme Court of the United States.

Thanks for your unwavering support,
