Today, I attended Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s first of four
confirmation hearings. Judge Jackson will appear before the
Senate Judiciary Committee all week and has already begun
to publicly testify as to her qualifications to serve on the
nation’s highest court.

Now, we are all very aware of how qualified Judge Jackson is.

After graduating from Harvard Law School, she clerked for
Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, served as a judge for
the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, and served
as circuit judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of
Columbia.

She is clearly a dedicated public servant, and no matter what
Republicans say, her time as a public defender is a qualification.
An important one in fact. She, along with Thurgood Marshall –
one of my greatest heroes – will be the only justices to serve
who had defense attorney experience.

Her insight into the criminal justice system is a qualification that
is unfortunately missing at the highest levels of the federal judiciary.

So friends, this week, as Judge Jackson continues her historical
nomination process as the first Black woman to be nominated to
the Supreme Court, please show your support by adding your

Republicans have already tried to attack Judge Jackson – but have
come with weak sauce. With a record as impeccable as hers,
Republicans will find there isn’t really much for them to pick at as
they’ve desperately tried the last few weeks.  

Even Mitch McConnell says there's "no question" she's qualified for the job!

So this week, let’s show Judge Jackson that we have her back and sign
on in support of her historic nomination. Let’s continue delivering on the
promise President Biden made on the campaign trail: America’s institutions
need to look like America, and that is what we will deliver.
