Tell Congress:
“The bipartisan Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress has done important work to bring Congress into the 21st century and get it working more efficiently. We strongly support the House’s extension of the committee for the rest of the 116th Congress, and call on House leadership to act now on the 29 recommendations that the committee has unanimously put forward to reform the first branch.”

John,
This bipartisan group in Congress has the best opportunity in decades to bring the House into the 21st century — and now it has more time to tackle that monumental challenge.
A few days ago, the bipartisan Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress was extended by the House of Representatives until the end of the 116th Congress next year. This is a big victory!
So far, this group has unanimously passed 29 recommendations to help Congress once again work for the American people. The only problem? Congress has yet to pass any of these commonsense reforms.
To keep the momentum going, the House must act on the select committee’s hard work before this year ends.
Sign your name to urge Congress to act on the recommendations of the Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress.
The 29 recommendations that the select committee has produced would improve House technology, transparency, staff diversity and retention, and constituent service. But only 5 of these recommendations have been introduced in the House — and even these haven’t been passed into law.
We need all of the select committee’s recommendations acted upon to make sure Congress becomes more efficient and effective for those it’s intended to serve — the American people.
Sign the petition to tell Congress you want these bipartisan recommendations to return the people’s chamber to the people!
Thank you for your support,
Meredith McGehee
