It’s clear that the Youngkin administration is going to continue to target and whittle away at our public education system. So, we need to focus on electing more Virginia Democrats to our local school boards. We must protect our children’s bright futures and the progress we’ve made to make the Commonwealth’s public education system more welcoming.

We wanted to take a moment to peel back the curtain to talk a bit more about where your money is going when you donate to help our local school board candidates:

• Candidate training and resources. Your contribution goes directly to supporting our staff as they travel around the Commonwealth providing both in person and virtual trainings and support for local candidates.
• Staffing campaigns. This year we’re launching a massive, year-round organizing effort focused on helping our local candidates running for school board, city council, and county board. Your contribution will help the DPVA hire staff who can put organizers in the field, talk to voters, and help us elect more Democrats on the local level.
• General operating costs. When we’re helping to staff these campaigns with organizers, we’re also going to need to provide those organizers with resources that allow them to operate to the best of their ability — gas cards, clip boards, pens, masks, etc. Your contribution allows us to make our organizers day-to-day easier to allow them to focus on building winning campaigns.

These are just a few of the things your dollars are going to when you donate to the Democratic Party of Virginia.

We know sometimes it feels like you’re donating to a nebulous cause with no idea where your money is actually being spent. So, we hope you’ll consider chipping in to support our efforts in 2022 and beyond now that we’ve explained a bit more.
