When I was a little girl, I learned the importance of education and putting service before self, and that if I worked hard, I could achieve my dreams.

I don't know where I would be if not for my father, a World War II refugee who went on to serve as a career naval officer. Or my mother, a Navy brat herself, who sat next to me each night when I was a girl helping me get me through my math and science homework. They committed their lives to service to others and instilled that same passion in me – so much so that I followed their path and joined the Air Force, where I served as a program engineer on anti-ballistic missile defense programs.
My time in the Air Force made me realize that my career in service was just beginning. From there, I went back to my other passion – science. Teaching high school chemistry in North Philadelphia allowed me to make an impact on my community and on the young folks who would undoubtedly make a difference in theirs.
When I saw my students struggling to read, I helped lead a nonprofit focused on improving early childhood literacy in underserved communities so that children across the country could get the education they need and deserve.
Then in 2018, I continued my tradition of putting service before self and ran for Congress to represent Pennsylvania's 6th district. I'm proud to say that I became the first Democrat since the Civil War to represent Chester County. As your Congresswoman, I've advocated for education, working families, democracy, and health care.
I'm not done serving my community; in fact, I'm just getting started. And it's this dedication to serving that has propelled me to run for reelection. But right now, our razor-thin House majority is at risk, with the GOP naming me as one of their top targets. They're going all-in to flip this battleground district red, and I'm counting on you to make sure the progress we've made for Pennsylvania doesn't end here.
Friend, will you step up today and chip in $5 right now to help me keep this seat blue and defend the Democratic House majority?
From a little girl with big dreams to an Air Force engineer, a science teacher, and the very first woman elected to represent PA-06, I've always believed in our country and what we can accomplish when we work together. And with your help, friend, we can win reelection and continue our work serving Pennsylvania.
