America is taking a big step forward today.

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings have just begun, and she’s ready to make history as the first Black woman and first former public defender to serve on our nation’s highest court.

But Senate Republicans have already started slinging mud. The vast majority of them are unlikely to vote for her despite the American Bar Association unanimously giving her their highest qualification rating. And if they controlled the chamber, Mitch McConnell has already promised to block President Biden from filling any seats on the Supreme Court.

That’s one reason why I’m running for Senate in Vermont: to defend our Senate majority and make sure we can confirm nominees like Judge Jackson, who will uphold the rule of law and protect equal rights. But we’ll need all-hands-on-deck to win this race—can you chip in to our campaign right away?

Judge Jackson has served our country honorably as a brilliant, thoughtful jurist and she deserves bipartisan support—but Mitch McConnell is only focused on scoring political points and making the Supreme Court even more conservative.
