Dear Friend,
On October 24th at 3 AM 120 Metrobus drivers employed by private contractor Transdev went on strike. For the last 26 days workers have put their livelihoods on the line to take a stand against privatization and corporate greed. The strikers demands are simple, they want affordable healthcare and the same pay as Metrobus drivers employed directly by WMATA. Transdev has refused to bargain a fair contract leaving drivers and their families without pay and riders without service.
We can not let Transdev continue to prolong this strike. As a private contractor of WMATA the WMATA board has the power to pressure Transdev to bargain a fair contract. Instead of fulfilling their responsibility to Metrobus workers and riders the the WMATA Board has refused to get involved and even refrained from penalizing Transdev for not serving their routes. Join us this Thursday at 10 AM as we pack the next WMATA board meeting and tell them to get Transdev to the table and end the strike!
WMATA Board Meeting: Pack the Room

Can't make it on Thursday? Join the picket line on another day or donate to the strike fund.
Metrobus drivers work hard to ensure that communities across the DMV have access to transportation, its time for us to show up for them. See you on Thursday.
