John,

Today, we want to do something a bit different. We want to play a game of connect the dots.

Here are three seemingly unconnected things:

1. Rep. Donald Payne Jr.
2 Merck Pharmaceuticals
3. Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill

And here’s the one thing that links them all together: money.

This month, the Florida GOP passed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill — a disgusting attack on free speech that bans teachers and students from discussing sexual orientation or gender identity in schools.

As it turns out, Merck Pharmaceuticals was a MAJOR DONOR to Florida politicians who sponsored this hateful, bigoted piece of legislation (surprise, surprise).

And, Merck Pharmaceuticals has also given THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to Rep. Donald Payne Jr.

If you want to see what kind of politician Rep. Payne Jr. really is, all you have to do is follow the money.

And if you want to fight back, all you have to do is click here, chip in $5, and help us elect a real progressive to fight for us in Congress. [[link removed]]

Imani Oakley has always stood with the LGBTQ community, and she’s never taken a dime from a corporate PAC like Merck.

Rep. Payne Jr. can’t say the same. In fact, he did next to no work to support the LGBTQ community until Imani called him out on it.

So we say it’s time to replace him.

Help us elect a Congresswoman who has NEVER wavered in her support for the LGBTQ community and NEVER compromised her progressive values to rake in corporate money. Click here to chip in $5 today. [[link removed]]

Thank you for standing with us.
