Moving Forward Together

Yesterday, the Party’s 30 candidates for the Assembly election were officially ratified.

Speaking to members of the Party Executive, Sir Jeffrey Donaldson outlined the DUP’s Five Point Plan:

“The DUP has a 5-point plan to build a better future for Northern Ireland within the Union:

  • We will fix the NHS, taking forward a plan which drives down waiting lists, trains more doctors, and rewards our staff rather than agencies.

  • The DUP will build on its strong record of growing the economy by making Northern Ireland a place attractive and ready for investors.

  • We will strive to keep our schools-world class. That means securing a fair funding model for all schools, investing in new school facilities, and improving services for pupils with special educational needs

  • We will work to remove the Northern Ireland Protocol and restore Northern Ireland’s place within the UK internal market.

  • The DUP will help working families across our Province. That means making Northern Ireland one of the best places in the British Isles for childcare and ensuring working families are not forgotten.”

A message from Deputy Leader Paula Bradley MLA as she announces that she is stepping down from the Northern Ireland Assembly.

Contining his address, Sir Jeffrey said,

“Unionism will only move forward when we move forward together and remember who we are really competing against.

In 47 days, every vote cast will matter.

In 47 days, each voter will be faced with a stark choice.

Between a positive vision for Northern Ireland - focused on the issues that really matter - or one centred on the chaos and division of Sinn Fein’s border poll plans.

History has proven that this Party’s success is Northern Ireland’s success.

When this Party is strong, Unionism is strong.

So, in the days to come, let us collectively rise to the challenge.

Let’s not be afraid to make our case on the doorsteps and let’s seize the opportunity at this election to move forward together and ensure Northern Ireland moves in the right direction.”
