,
Two years ago today, Trump used the COVID-19 pandemic as a pretext to weaponize section 265 of Title 42 in order to deny asylum to migrants seeking protection at our southern border under the guise of public health.
Since 2020, migrant families and adults have been denied their fundamental right to seek asylum more than 1.6 million times – slamming the door in the face of people who are in harm’s way and seeking promised protection under the law.
Congressional leaders, health experts, and even top CDC officials have called out the fact that there has never been a public health justification for Title 42 expulsions. Even 52% of Americans agree that this policy has got to go. The Biden administration should listen to these trusted voices and end Title 42 expulsions for everyone.
, join us in demanding that President Biden restore asylum and finally end the disastrous Title 42 expulsion order for all migrants >>>
Alongside our partners at #WelcomeWithDignity, we’ve been fighting against this xenophobic policy since it was first implemented. Two years later, the truth is undeniable: it is past time to end Title 42 and other cruel deterrence policies.
At a time when we are experiencing record levels of migration as a result of war, the ongoing climate crisis, and gender-based violence — the U.S. must meet this moment and work to build a humane and dignified immigration system.
Call on the Biden administration to end Title 42 expulsions and support ALL asylum seekers >>>
Sincerely,
