In 2020 , under Tina Peters’ watch, it was discovered that over 500 ballots from the 2019 election in Mesa County were left uncounted.
Last summer , Peters endangered the security of Mesa County elections when she tampered with election equipment, allowed an unauthorized individual access to voting machines, and released confidential information. Jena took immediate action and asked a judge to remove Peters from overseeing the 2021 election, ensuring Mesa County voters had the safe and secure election they deserve.
