Friend,
Today is the first day of spring! While lawns and neighborhoods haven’t yet started greening up, my team and I are getting out there meeting with voters.
The last two weekends we’ve held Community Conversations in the new district that I’m seeking to represent. I love meeting with people face-to-face. That’s one thing that I’ve missed so much during the pandemic.
After all, staying rooted in community means talking to the very people who you will fight for.
With less than 100 days until people start voting in our Democratic primary, we’re adding field staff right now to bring our message of compassion and love―and our shared fight for working people―to all corners of Michigan’s new 12th congressional district.

Friend,
Staying rooted in community means talking to the very people who you will fight for. And nothing fuels Rashida like meeting with her constituents.
Since she’s running for re-election in a new district, Rashida’s making sure to connect with people in the communities that she hasn’t represented before. That’s why, for the last two weekends, Rashida and our team have held Community Conversations in Livonia, Southfield, and Dearborn.
These are critical opportunities to hear directly from constituents on the issues most impacting them, from student loan forgiveness to flood damage, air pollution, auto insurance, and more.
It also gives residents the opportunity to see who Rashida really is―someone who’s deeply compassionate and driven by uplifting her community and her constituents. We’re not waiting for Rashida’s opponents or special interest groups to characterize her leadership.
One voter at a recent Community Conversation told us that after meeting Rashida, they didn’t need to meet any other candidates. They’re 100% sold on Rashida’s leadership.
Rashida loves these events because they allow her to stay rooted in community and ensure that the policies she’s fighting for reflect the needs of her residents. Our team is also using them as an opportunity to collect the petition signatures needed to get Rashida on the ballot for her re-election.
With less than 100 days until ballots start being cast in our Democratic primary, we’re adding field staff to our team right now to bring Rashida’s message to all corners of the district.
