Hello! Thank you for signing up for email updates from the Institute for Humane Studies.

At IHS, we believe that the principles of classical liberalism – including tolerance, peace, and individual liberty – are the foundation of a just and prosperous world, and that these ideas are fostered through the work of scholars in the university system.

That’s why we’ve built the foremost network of students and faculty across the country who are leading the scholarly advancement of classical liberal principles.

We focus on promoting rigorous academic discussion, debate and scholarship on all college campuses. Here’s how:

We inspire and educate college students through intensive summer seminars, weekend events, on-campus programs, and Learn Liberty online videos

We connect students and recent graduates to intellectual and career opportunities.

We support future professors. Each year, IHS awards more than $1 million in scholarships to hundreds of students from around the world. In addition, we offer an integrated suite of academic career programs including mentoring, research grants, career-development seminars, online resources, and placement support.

We facilitate the impact of professors both on and beyond their campuses, partnering with faculty to run campus programs and connecting scholars to opportunities to inform policy debates.

We partner with allied organizations and supporters to advance freedom.

From the undergraduate just beginning to develop a passion for classic liberalism to the established professor, IHS is a partner throughout your academic career, providing guidance, resources and access to a community of likeminded scholars. I hope you’ll join us.

Sincerely,

Chad Thevenot
