John - It’s so hard to believe that anyone would actually cheer the death and destruction that Putin has unleashed upon the people of Ukraine.
But that’s exactly what White Christian Nationalists have done. And they continue to do it. As Lauren Witzke, a GOP candidate for the Senate in Delaware said: “Here’s the deal. Russia is a Christian nationalist nation. They’re actually Russian Orthodox. ... I identify more with Putin’s Christian values than I do with Joe Biden.”
That’s because, at their core, Christian Nationalists disdain democracy if it means their God’s chosen one loses fairly in an election. And they’ve proven they’ll resort to violence to overturn that same election.
I hope you can contribute to our efforts to counter these extreme right-wing forces. I promise it will make an enormous impact on our election-year campaign.
The same leaders behind the January 6 attack are organizing events across the country, to indoctrinate and energize the 30 million adult Americans sympathetic to their grievances. And many experts believe they will do anything it takes the next time they lose. Even if that means violence.
Do not sit by while these forces threaten to dismantle our secular democracy.
Thanks for your support.

“Can we get a round of applause for Russia?”
That was Nick Fuentes, a speaker at a White Christian Nationalist event held just days after Putin’s violent invasion of Ukraine.
Attendees cheered in response, “Putin! Putin!”.
It’s hard to imagine anyone supporting the Russian government’s vicious acts against Ukrainians. But White Christian Nationalists have been a cheerleader of Putin for years.
Back in 2014, American evangelist, Franklin Graham wrote admiringly about Putin’s efforts to protect children from the “propaganda of homosexuality.”
Christian Nationalists believe Putin is fighting the same spiritual war they are - one against an increasingly plural and secular society. They believe their God is calling for a certain outcome - and if democracy isn’t delivering on that - then it’s time to do whatever it takes.

We cannot take our democracy for granted. Right-wing, Christian Nationalist movements in the United States have been energized.
To counter them, over the last several years, we’ve worked to support candidates that will hold insurrectionists accountable and strengthen the separation of church and state. People like Congressman Jamie Raskin (MD-8), who co-founded the Congressional Freethought Caucus and today sits on the January 6 Committee. Representative Raskin has been a vital champion for our democracy, forcefully speaking out against the lies and fanaticism that fueled that violent attack on our government.
With the midterms later this year, it’s critical that we can fully fund our efforts to support these secular champions against right-wing extremists. Help support champions in Congress who are defending our democracy against Christian Nationalist extremists.
Thanks as always for your support.
