Thirty years later, I can still feel the dusty black cloud descend upon me. I remember the precise moment I learned about the attack on the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires that claimed 29 innocent lives and injured 242 more. In that moment, as a Jew, I knew I was no longer safe in the place my family had called home for four generations. Thirty years later, there is still no accountability for this atrocity, one that will never fade from my mind.
An insightful and moving reflection by CIJA's Nico Slobinsky, Senior Director, Pacific Region, on the unresolved suicide bombing of the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina on March 17, 1992.

According to Statistics Canada, Jews remain the most targeted religious minority in our country for hate crimes. In response to rising antisemitism in other Western nations, governments in countries such as France and Germany have enacted legislation to criminalize Holocaust denial. Last month, a Member of Parliament tabled legislation that would do just that in Canada.
On Tuesday March 29 at 1 p.m. EDT, Emmanuelle Amar, CIJA’s Director of Policy and Research in Quebec, will moderate The Exchange, a webinar about why such legislation is important, the challenges it poses, and what we can learn from other countries that have enacted similar laws. Panelists will be Michal Cotler-Wunsh, Head of the Nefesh B’Nefesh Institute for Aliyah Policy & Strategy, and Former Member of Knesset; Dr. Carson Phillips, PhD, Managing Director of the Neuberger Holocaust Education Centre; and Sacha Ghozlan, French legal expert.
