John,
This week, victims of gun industry negligence and misconduct finally had their day in court.
Seven years ago, 13-year-old J.R. Gustafson was killed when his friend unintentionally shot him with a gun thought to be unloaded, but it lacked crucial safety features. The full court decided to review that decision, and I argued before them in August, and we are waiting for their decision. Whatever happens, the Brady Legal Team and I will continue to fight for the rights of the Gustafsons -- and all victims of gun industry negligence -- to hold gun manufacturers and sellers accountable for this unimaginable tragedy.
J.R.’s family fought through grief to take on the gun lobby in court and I am honored to represent them, along with countless other victims whose lives have been forever changed because of gun industry oversight. I’m asking you to stand with J.R.’s family and demand gun industry accountability. Will you add your name to our petition right now and help us hold bad gun industry actors accountable?
J.R.’s family deserves justice — just like every American. And shielding the gun industry from accountability makes all Americans less safe. It’s time for gun makers and sellers to face the consequences of their unreasonable, irresponsible actions that lead to injury and death. I’m counting on all gun violence prevention advocates to answer our call: Will you show your support for J.R.’s family and all families who have suffered from gun industry malpractice and add your name to our petition today?
We know how to beat the gun lobby because we’ve done it before – but we need your support today. Thank you for taking action to honor J.R. Gustafson, his family, and those whose lives have been senselessly changed.
