[ [link removed] ]Welch for Vermont

Hello,

I always wish Washington were more like Vermont—and that includes the U.S.
Senate.

You know, I used to serve in the Vermont State Senate. I learned a ton
about what it means to represent our communities as a public servant. And
I was able to work with liberal Democrats and conservative Republicans who
united behind what was best for Vermont families.

I wouldn’t be where I am today without those experiences, and if we win
this race, I would work to bring the Vermont way—respect, cooperation, and
trust—to the U.S. Senate. But first, we need to keep building our strong
grassroots coalition, which could use your continued support.

our Senate majority?

After helping flip the Vermont State Senate blue, I had the honor of
serving as its first Democratic President pro tem. Years later, when I was
Senate leader again under a Republican governor, some of my Democratic
colleagues wanted us to focus on giving him a hard time. But I reminded
them that we’d been elected by the same voters who’d picked the governor,
and it wouldn’t have been fair to Vermont families to prioritize political
bashing over progress.

Now, we’ve got to make sure Mitch McConnell doesn’t take back control in
Washington. We saw what he did to President Obama after taking back the
Senate—all obstruction, all the time. We can’t let him do the same to
President Biden. In a way, I’ve been in his shoes—and I’ve made a very
different choice.

This seat could be the difference between moving forward on our
progressive future—and handing it all back to Mitch McConnell. With our
democracy at stake, the choice couldn’t be any clearer, but we still have
to do the work to win it. That’s why we’re building the largest grassroots
movement possible to win this election, and you’re playing an important
role.

to Washington.

Thank you,

Peter
