STEWARD OUTDOOR SCHOOL
A LIFE-CHANGING SEMESTER FOR 6TH-9TH GRADERS
IVORYTON, CONNECTICUT
Steward ([link removed]) is the country's only semester school designed specifically for 6th-9th graders and the only Episcopal semester school. Each semester students from across the country come to Steward to grow personally and academically, discover more about themselves and our world, and embark on adventures that they will remember for a lifetime. Nurtured by the richness and breadth of our program, graduates enter high school with a better understanding of themselves, their place in the world, and how to care for God's creation.
Steward ([link removed]) offers the unique opportunity for high achieving students to learn and live away from their regular school for a semester. Similar to existing high school ([link removed]) semester schools, Steward fulfills and enhances required courses, allowing students to remain on-track academically.
Stewards spend at least four weeks of each semester on outdoor adventure expeditions ([link removed]) , including: hiking on the Appalachian Trail, adventuring in the White Mountains, canoeing down the Connecticut River and sea kayaking along the Maine coast. Learning how to live in intentional community with a focus on sustainable practices is at the core of our program.

Steward is a proud member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools and a program of Incarnation Camp and Conference Center ([link removed]) , an Episcopal non-profit with a 134 year legacy of delivering life-changing education, retreat and camping programs to thousands of youth and adults each year. Our beautiful campus spans over 740 acres in coastal Connecticut.
