I wanted to show you something today that I use every single day: my short
acting insulin.

I take it with every meal, every single day. I will die without it. And
three years ago, I almost did.
Three years ago, I was forced to make a choice that too many struggling
families across Kentucky still have to make to this day: buy food for my
girls, or refill my insulin prescription. I chose my girls, and nearly
died as a result.
And the worst part of this is that the cost of insulin — like the one you
see in my hands above — isn't determined by supply and demand.
Instead, few companies set a price to maximize their own profits. In 2020
alone, Eli Lilly made $2.6 billion off of Humalog, because millions of
people like me have to either pay for their drug or die.
I’m running for Senate because I know what it’s like to not be able to
afford quality healthcare — and I’m ready to fight so that no family in

Healthcare is a human right, but Big Pharma companies
are colluding to make the costs of life-saving drugs like insulin
artificially skyrocket. In a country as rich and powerful as the United
States, that is unconscionable.
I will never forget how broken I felt in that hospital bed, dying because
I chose to use my last dollars to feed my daughters over my expensive
insulin.
No one anywhere should die because they don’t have money in their pocket.
I’m done with this cycle of failed leadership — that’s why I’m running for
U.S. Senate. My promise is to bring
these lived experiences to the U.S. Senate so we can finally pass the
