Dear friend,

Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Act – also known as the Don’t Say Gay bill, which aims to ban discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity in the classroom – has now passed both chambers of the Florida legislature.

Now, the bill only needs Governor Ron DeSantis’s signature to become law, placing extreme restrictions on LGBTQ+ topics in education.

We cannot allow far-right Republicans to decide what our children can and cannot learn at public schools – or allow blatant homophobia and transphobia to run rampant in Florida.

So we’re taking action to tell Governor DeSantis that enough is enough – the Don’t Say Gay bill cannot become law in Florida.

If the Don’t Say Gay bill passes in Florida, this would set an example for other Republican-led states to follow, causing chaos in our public education system across the country.

This bill would also have a devastating effect on LGBTQ+ students, who could feel alienated or oppressed at the public schools in which they are meant to seek support and guidance.

So please tell Governor DeSantis that the Don’t Say Gay bill CANNOT become law in Florida, for the good of our students and our country >>
