With Gas Prices Skyrocketing, Governor Hogan Signs First-in-Nation Emergency Gas Tax Suspension

While Washington continues to be weighed down by partisan gridlock, Governor Hogan is delivering relief for Marylanders from high gas prices amid the global energy crisis.

Governor Hogan signed into law a first-in-the-nation emergency suspension of the gas tax. The bill passed both chambers of Maryland’s legislature with unanimous support.

This is just another example of how Governor Hogan has successfully secured support from his overwhelmingly Democratic to cut taxes every single year of his governorship – the only Republican governor in America to do so. Last year, Governor Hogan passed the largest tax cut in Maryland history with near unanimous support.

Once again, Governor Hogan has shown how to put aside partisan politics and work across the aisle to achieve results in times of crisis.

Governor Hogan Launches First-In-The-Nation Initiative To Eliminate Four-Year Degree Requirement From Thousands of State Jobs

Governor Hogan announced the launch of a first-in-the-nation workforce development initiative to formally eliminate the four-year college degree requirement from thousands of state jobs. Under Governor Hogan, Maryland has become a national leader in workforce development and job training with nationally recognized programs for job training and apprenticeships. This is one reason why CNBC recently named Maryland as the most improved state for business in America.

According to Governor Hogan, as labor shortages harm the national economy, “this is exactly the kind of bold, bipartisan solution we need to continue leading the nation by giving even more Marylanders the opportunities they need to be successful.”

Governor Hogan Leads Bipartisan Call Urging Greater U.S. Military Assistance For Ukraine

View the statement here and below.

“For weeks, President Zelensky and the people of Ukraine have shown remarkable determination and courage in the face of Putin’s unprovoked war of choice. But wars cannot be won on heroics alone. Although America has already delivered significant military aid to Ukraine, we can and must do much more. We join the Problem Solvers Caucus in urging President Biden and Congress to provide or facilitate delivery of vital additional military aid to Ukraine, including but not limited to S-300 surface-to-air missile system, MiG-29 jets, and Su-25 aircraft.”

“The American people are unified in standing with the heroic Ukrainian people and against Russian aggression. We will not be intimidated by Putin’s barbaric attacks and threats. We must stand united with our allies in offering not just words and sanctions, but the additional weaponry Ukraine needs to prevail.”

AN UPDATE FROM TWITTER

This is outrageous and disgusting.

The Soviet Union was an Evil Empire built on tyranny, not love. To defeat Putin's aggression, we need our leaders to stand for freedom.

Thank you to my friend @Schwarzenegger for having the courage to speak the truth through his powerful story.
