When President Trump took office, he decided to wage a social and political war against immigrants, Muslims and refugees.

Do you Welcome Refugees? Let them know

Dear John,

When President Trump took office, he decided to wage a social and political war against immigrants, Muslims and refugees.

While the Statue of Liberty bears a tablet that reads “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,” the Trump administration's attitude toward some of the world's most marginalized populations displays the opposite sentiment. Take action now and say welcome to all refugees!

For the next few years, our country will be led by a man whose poisonous words and actions have shown a chilling disregard for our cherished human rights. The threats presented by the new Trump administration give an added urgency to our work.

Take a solid stance with us: say you welcome refugees now.

President Trump's message to refugees and asylum seekers? Get out and stay out. Families have been ripped apart at the border or thrown behind bars in family detention centers.

If you stand with us, we can press congressional staff to intervene when President Trump attempts to enact policies that run afoul of human rights. We also document cases of people affected by Trump policies that disregard human rights, and work with Amnesty’s global researchers in other countries to do the same to build our case for helping refugees find safety and rebuild their lives.

This is a time of resilience. Our communities and our movements will only become stronger. Help us protect human rights.

Take the first step with us now and say “I Welcome Refugees.”
