So with Congress rushing last week to spend $1.5 trillion, you’d think they are just very busy legislators. If you recall, there was less than 24 hours to read through 2,741 pages, including 367 pages of earmarks.
But this week proved what a farce that all was, and showed how much time Congress really has.
The House was in session all week and considered a slate of boring bills like renaming post offices and such. They also voted on partisan legislation that won’t pass the Senate and a redundant messaging bill.
The Senate passed a bill by unanimous consent making Daylight Savings permanent.
While Americans do real work, Congress does almost nothing. Congress didn’t address inflation, the border, big tech authoritarianism, or end vaccine mandates and the national emergency.
So just remember all this for the next time your member of Congress tells you they “had to vote YES” on a rushed multi-trillion dollar spending bill.
