Here’s the simple truth:
A few days ago, we made the difficult decision to launch our first-ever TV ad in Wisconsin earlier than we originally planned. The money wasn’t in the budget, but with Ron Johnson already flooding the airwaves, we took the risk. It’s going to be hard to keep up. Ron Johnson has more cash on hand than anyone in this race, and Republicans have raised more than $200 million to help him win. That is *a lot* of money to compete with, and TV is one of the most expensive line items in any campaign budget. Right now, we’re about 33% short of our goal, and we only have until the March 31 FEC deadline to make up the difference. What we raise over the next few days will determine if we can afford to compete with Ron Johnson on the air. And we cannot afford to fall short. We’re going to need lots and lots of people like you to make a small contribution before we are legally required to report our fundraising totals to the Federal Election Commission. Once those numbers go public, everyone will be able to see if we have the resources to win. So, we’re asking: Can you chip in to keep our ad running so we can reach as many Wisconsin voters as possible? We cannot allow Ron Johnson to dominate the airwaves if we want to flip this Senate seat blue. Every dollar you can give will make an important difference in our toss-up race. We’re meeting folks where they are — on broadcast, cable, online, and directly in their communities — because we know that Sarah is the person we need in Washington right now. She’s the only Democrat in the race who has won two statewide elections on her own, and she’s the only one ahead of Ron Johnson in the latest head-to-head poll. With your support, we can defeat Ron Johnson and send Sarah Godlewski to the U.S. Senate in November. Thanks! — Team Sarah
