Hi team,
Very happy to share with you that The CROWN Act passed the House today!
The Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair (CROWN) Act, H.R. 2116, explicitly prohibits discrimination on the basis of hair texture and hairstyles commonly associated with a particular race or national origin.
Studies have shown that 80% of Black women believe that they had to change their hair from its natural state to “fit in at the office.”
This is unacceptable – but today our country took a huge step toward making discrimination based on race-based hairstyles a thing of the past, especially against Black women and girls. Now, it’s on to the Senate and we need your support! Will you sign on as a citizen co-sponsor and demand the Senate pass the CROWN Act now?

Black women and girls deserve to wear their hair with pride wherever they go — especially school and the workplace. Make no mistake, discrimination against Black hair is a form of racism. And racism is not welcome in our country.
We deserve to work in peace and our children deserve to participate in school in peace. We’re calling on the Senate to pass the CROWN Act, will you stand with us?
