John: As we eagerly await Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, I wanted to personally reach out to Emerge’s top supporters to share how we’re moving forward from here – and your name, John, is right here on my list.

We've made significant progress in our movement for real representation in our government – but when it comes to the Supreme Court, the last few years have sent us huge steps back. Now, we have the chance to start turning things around by demanding that the Senate confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson without delay.

Here's the truth: The insight, compassion, and empathy that come from racial, gender, and cultural diversity have been sorely missed in the highest court in America.

We’ve all felt that absence, John. We’ve felt it in the indifference of the Court’s ultraconservative majority toward the suffering and fear of marginalized people. And we’ve felt it in the Court’s failure to safeguard our constitutional rights from the GOP’s extremist attacks – attacks which are getting bolder every day. That’s why Judge Jackson’s nomination matters.

I want to thank you in advance for supporting Judge Jackson as she approaches her confirmation hearing. The direction of our country is being determined right now, and it’s up to us to stand with bold women leaders as they step up to the challenge.

But transforming politics and safeguarding the rights of every member of our communities is simply not a one-woman job. That’s why Emerge is committed to seeing a new generation of judges in office who will help build a more equitable future. By empowering more women of the New American Majority to fill the judicial pipeline and seek critical local, state, and federal judgeships, we will bring new voices and experiences to the judicial world that will help reform the old political structures and lift each other up. But we need your help to make that vision a reality.

That’s why I’m reaching out today – especially to you, John. I know that you care about empowering diverse Democratic women to level up their leadership, stare down racism and sexism, and win real decision-making power. Because when these women win public office, they make the changes our communities need to thrive. So I’m asking you now, as one of our top supporters:

Will you step up and donate $5 or more now – before our next big deadline tonight at midnight – to help Emerge recruit, train, and elect bold women leaders up and down the ballot in every state? It’s the only way to build the future we deserve.
