Mike Gibbons is just the latest GOP candidate to do something offensive.
John,
It’s a day that ends in Y, so you can bet one of the Republican candidates for this Senate seat has done or said something terrible again.
Mike Gibbons, a self-funding financier who’s now one of the leading contenders for the Republican nomination to represent Ohio in the Senate, employed a litany of offensive stereotypes about Asian people in a podcast interview that just resurfaced.
Over and over in this interview, Gibbons cited a widely discredited book to make offensive comments about Chinese people and other Asian people, attributing any success among Asian people to racial tropes that have long been trademarks of anti-Asian racism.
We cannot allow someone with such ignorant and racist views to represent our state in the Senate. Can you rush a contribution to our campaign to help us fight back against this kind of hate?

John, I can’t believe I have to say it, but being a racist multi-millionaire doesn’t qualify you to represent people in the U.S. Senate.
We need a Senator who cares about our communities and EVERYONE within them. We need a Senator who’ll fight for working people, especially right now when we need it most. And most of all we need a Senator who won’t try to divide us based on what we look like, where we come from, or how much money we have.
Our diversity – and having the power of the people on our side – is what makes us stronger. Can you chip in today to our grassroots campaign?
Now more than ever, I proudly stand with our Asian-American friends, family, and neighbors and I hope Mike Gibbons apologizes for his hateful and offensive comments – it’s the least he can do.
Thank you,
Morgan
