Hello,
Great news: This week, Brady PAC, one of the nation’s leading organizations working to prevent gun violence, endorsed Peter for Senate.
For years, Peter has been a leading advocate for common-sense gun safety reforms, from passing universal background checks for gun purchases, to banning assault weapons, to removing the prohibition on gun violence research by the CDC.
An endorsement from the Brady PAC is a big deal, because it means Peter has proven to be a real partner in the fight to end gun violence. But Peter isn’t in this fight for the awards or accolades—he’s in it to help end the epidemic of gun violence in our country. That’s what he’ll do as senator if we win this race. And with this grassroots movement, we’re optimistic we can get it done.
Peter already helped to pass a strong background check bill in the House, but Senate Republicans and Mitch McConnell refused to bring it to the floor while they were in the majority. As Senator, we can count on him to always support gun violence prevention measures.
Preventable gun tragedies continue to tear families apart, but preventing them isn’t at the top of everyone’s priority list in Washington. That's simply unacceptable. And while we can count on Peter to continue fighting for common-sense gun safety, it’s clear we’ve got to increase the pressure on Republicans to step up and join him.
Thank you,
Team Welch
