One of the best pieces of advice I ever received was from my mother, Berdetta Hodge, when she told me, “you manage things, you lead people.”
Often, campaigns can seem focused on a list of items to accomplish when in reality, they should always be people-focused. That’s why I am working on running a different kind of campaign: one that places people at the center of everything we do.
And in Congress, I’ll continue to put people first by fighting for Arizona’s 1st District and the issues that matter most to our community, like voting access, healthcare costs, and funding for education. During his time in office, David Schweikert has fought to protect insurrectionists who stormed the United States Capitol on January 6th and misused campaign donations but has done little to deliver for the people in our community. He is not there for the people in our District who cannot afford to buy their first home or the hard-working families who are saddled with thousands of dollars in medical debt.
