Dean's favorite drink: Coffee. From his Government Repair Truck to his office on the Hill, it's always flowing.
In 2017: Dean launched his campaign and opened a Campaign Coffeehouse, where people of all political stripes could come together for coffee and conversations to bridge the partisan divide.
In 2018: We succeeded, turning Minnesota’s 3rd District blue for the first time since the 1950s.
In 2020: The pandemic hit, and Dean made the tough decision to close the Campaign Coffeehouse. We used Zoom, postcards, emails, and social media to keep in touch with constituents and volunteers.
Now: We're gathering in person again. Thanks to all the supporters who contributed time, money, and even furniture, we've opened a new Campaign Coffeehouse in Wayzata to bring people together – and everyone's invited!
Why it matters: The most important conversations – the ones that really move people, the ones that will repair our politics and save our democracy – can happen over glowing screens and keyboards, but they're even better over cups of coffee, wooden tables, and shared challenges that we're all trying to solve together. We created this space for just that.
If you’re in the area, come by the Campaign Coffeehouse for our official grand opening tomorrow.
Thanks for keeping the conversation going (and the coffee flowing),
The DeanTeam
