Want to make a difference in the midterm elections this year? Our union has identified some of the most important races of this election cycle, and we’ll be sharing with you the most effective actions you can take to help us win them and protect our democracy. |
We’re reaching out to you about something a bit different today. Normally, we write to you about being part of our union’s offensive work – our vision for a just and equitable health care system and our plan to win guaranteed, Medicare for All. Today, we want to ask you to join our defensive work as well in 2022. Will you stand in solidarity with us as we defend our democracy?
The stakes couldn’t be higher for this important election year. Right-wing attacks on our political system and our democracy are at an all-time high. Nurses know what this means for patients and communities. Their attacks and agenda influence every social determinant of health – from housing, racial justice, education, and more. We cannot let that happen.
But this movement is not just for nurses. We need everyone involved if we are going to preserve our democracy.
That’s where you come in. Together, we can write a different story where we strengthen our democracy – increase voter turnout, lift up justice-centered candidates, and grow the Democratic majority in Congress to pass the policies we need to protect voting rights, get money out of politics, advance racial justice, and much more.
