Dear neighbor:
I’m writing to share some positive news for our community. I’m thrilled to announce that I have secured nearly $11 million in funding for 10 local projects in our district as part of the government funding legislation President Biden signed into law this week. All 10 projects I fought for were included in the final legislation. The projects will help address homelessness; expand access to mental health and other services; and support our veterans right here in California’s 33rd Congressional District. The government funding bill will help American families with the cost of living; create American jobs; and support the vulnerable while tackling some of our nation’s biggest challenges.
I am proud to have worked alongside so many local leaders to help ensure our community has the resources it needs for a healthier, safer, and more resilient future.
I was able to secure funding for the following projects that directly benefit our community:
- $2,000,000 for Santa Monica Parking Lot Affordable Housing Conversion
- $1,500,000 for CIRCLE 24/7: Crisis and Incident Response through Community-Led Engagement
- $1,000,000 for Torrance Homelessness Response - Encampment Infrastructure
- $1,000,000 for Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center
- $1,000,000 for Fairfax Cool Neighborhoods
- $1,000,000 for Cedars-Sinai, Los Angeles, CA for facilities and equipment
- $1,000,000 for Southern California Regional Occupational Center, Torrance, CA for a workforce development initiative
- $1,000,000 for Beach Cities Health District, Redondo Beach, CA for facilities and equipment for the Youth Wellness Center
- $749,650 for Arnold Avenue Rehabilitation at the West LA VA
- $600,000 for Regents of the University of California, Los Angeles, CA for the purchase of equipment, including telehealth equipment

Not only does this government funding bill invest in our communities across the country, but it also provides $13.6 billion in assistance for Ukraine as they fight to defend their sovereign nation.
It’s an honor to be a voice for our district in Congress, and I’m pleased to have secured this funding for projects that will directly impact our community.
