THIS MONTH AT

Our Matching gift has been extended and all March long, your donations will be matched up to $16,000 for a total of $32,000 raised - and it will all support our Employment & Education program. Victims of human trafficking are most likely to recover from their victimization and remain free from it when they have the skills, resources, and confidence to attain financial independence. We’re celebrating Women’s History Month by fueling work that helps youth in our Survivor Care advance in their careers and attain higher education.

Nathan Earl is an anti-trafficking pioneer, fierce advocate and visionary leader with a passion for building resilient communities immune to exploitation. Through his work as a Public Health Consultant at Giant Slayer Consulting, Nathan leverages more than 20 years of lived and professional experience to help organizations and communities prevent violence against boys and male-identifying individuals. We're honored to have his expertise join Love146's passionate Board of Directors.

When a child’s economic needs aren’t being met, they’re vulnerable to traffickers who offer to meet those needs in exchange for sex or exploitative labor. If that youth has already experienced exploitation, they’re at especially high risk for revictimization. Other employment programs often aren’t able to meet the unique needs of survivors. So we created an Employment and Education program to continue journeying alongside these young people.

Listen as Love146 staff talk through why Employment & Education services are so critical for the young people we work with.

It is no secret that from the very beginning of Love146 almost 20 years ago, we have had a bold vision: "The end of child trafficking and exploitation. Nothing less." ...But HOW? We have always sought to make sure that these weren’t just words meant to inspire, but that there would be teeth to the vision. We have worked really hard on answering the ever-persistent questions of “How will we accomplish this audacious vision? How will we know that what we are doing is actually effective?” Get some answers in our 2021 Annual Report.

On February 24th, the contributors of the public health textbook, The Historical Roots of Human Trafficking, hosted a virtual discussion on the intersectional issues of history, race, trafficking, and public health titled, "How Did We Get Here?" The event included Love146 leadership Aria Flood, Director of US Prevention, and Erin Williamson, Vice President of Global Programs, to consider these topics.

12 years ago, Love146 volunteers in Boston started a campaign called Tread on Trafficking. The concept was simple: Set your own wellness goal; set your own fundraising goal – and go! Since then over 3,000 people have raised more than $600,000 as a part of Tread on Trafficking efforts. And it's coming back soon! Mark your calendars: Tread on Trafficking will be June 1st-30th. Are you ready to challenge yourself to connect to others while helping prevent child trafficking and exploitation?

Last month was Black History Month and we celebrated just a few of the many Black colleagues and partners who are shaping our history as an organization. Last month on social media, we featured LaNaria Barnes, Marlena King, and Jessica Stewart and their relentless work end child trafficking.

It's here! You can donate crypto to Love146's work ending child trafficking. Thanks to Shift4 and The Giving Block, it can be matched. Even if you don't hold any crypto personally, chances are you know someone that does. About 16% of Americans say they’ve traded or owned cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. So spread the word!
