"This is a terror that Europe has not seen, has not seen for 80 years, and we are asking for a reply, for an answer to this terror from the whole world. Is this a lot to ask for, to create a no-fly zone over Ukraine to save people? Is this too much to ask, humanitarian no-fly zone, something that Russia would not be able to terrorize our free cities?"

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his address before a Joint Session of Congress, March 16, 2022
The Other Pivot to China

By Hussein Aboubakr Mansour | March 18, 2022

After Saudi and UAE leaders Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Emirati Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan were reported to have refused to take calls from the White House recently, Saudi Arabia announced that it had invited Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit. The incident came only a week after Gulf countries rejected an American request to increase oil production to compensate for Russian oil. The latest episode of the stark contrast between American-Arab strained relations and Arab-Chinese cooperation appears part of a more significant pivot in the Middle East toward China, who will be the winner in the post-American Middle East.

Moreover, Saudi Arabia is considering accepting yuan instead of dollars for oil sales to China.

On February 24, 2022, most of the world woke up to the harsh realization that evil really does exist. Western Europe, particularly Germany, has reversed its long-held aversion to military spending and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz committed 2% of their GDP to defense.

Unfortunately, Israel has never been allowed the luxury of such slumber. Ever since Israel's inception, formidable forces have attempted to eliminate it. Israel has watched as Russian President Vladimir Putin commits atrocities against the valiant Ukrainian people, and although Ukrainian Present Volodymyr Zelensky has made impassioned please for a “no-fly zone” to President Biden, it has fallen on deaf ears.

Israel is now facing an existential crisis of its own, with a regime that is every bit as evil as Russia: the Islamic Republic of Iran, with which we are perilously close to a horrific nuclear agreement. Among other things, the agreement will further cement the regime’s control with tens of billions of dollars, and will give sanctions relief to some of the world’s worst terrorists.

Experts agree that Iran is only weeks away from total nuclear breakout. Seeing how the United States has reacted to the crisis in Ukraine, does that change Israel’s calculus when it comes to the nuclear project of the Islamic Republic of Iran?

Here to answer those questions and more is Brigadier General Amir Avivi of the Israeli Defense Forces.
