Hi, I’m Andy Parker. I’m running for Congress in Virginia’s fifth congressional district because I fear that we are watching our democracy crumble in real time, and I can’t sit by and let it happen.

When my daughter Alison was murdered on live television in 2015, my heart was broken. Grief changes you, and it changes your perspective on life. As I’ve mourned the injustice of my daughter’s death, I have been overwhelmed by the injustice I see everywhere. I see our politicians divide people for political gain and fail to get anything done to help our families. I see Congressman Bob Good promote dangerous conspiracy theories, misinformation about public health, and far-right extremist rhetoric.

We deserve better. I’m running to restore integrity and decency to the 5th District. I’m running because I believe, like many Americans, that democracy hangs in the balance.
