Mayor Lori Lightfoot's story began 350 miles west of Chicago in the small city of Massillon, Ohio
We have a FUNDRAISING DEADLINE in two weeks... Will you chip in $5 right now?

Mayor Lori Lightfoot's story began 350 miles east of Chicago in the small town of Massillon, Ohio, where her mother worked an overnight shift as a nurse's aid and her father dreamed of becoming a lawyer.

As a teenager, she got a taste of politics when she ran for class president at Washington High school in Chicago. Lori urged her peers to "Get on the right foot with Lightfoot," and fought against bland cafeteria lunch options.

Thanks to work-study jobs, Mayor Lightfoot paid her way through school and eventually graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Political Science.

Two years later, she received a full scholarship to pursue her law degree at the University of Chicago Law School and took a role at a global law firm upon graduation.

You might know where this is going... but did you know we have a quarterly fundraising deadline in two weeks?

She began working with the Chicago Police Department as the Chief Administrator of Office Professional Standards. In 2016, she was appointed as President of the Chicago Police Board and co-chair of the Chicago Police Accountability Task Force. Then, in 2018, she launched her campaign for mayor; advocating for safety, education, and accountability in the government. She would go on to lead a movement to WIN that historic campaign.

Lori’s win wasn’t just a win for herself; it was history in the making. As the first LGBTQ+ person and Black woman to be elected mayor of Chicago, she helped bring long-overdue representation to City Hall.

Lori's personal experiences with adversity fueled her to fight for a more equitable and economically-forward Chicago. She has advocated for our LGBTQ+ communities, lower-income families, and Chicago's most marginalized. However, her work is far from done...

Which is where you come in, John!

Mayor Lori Lightfoot's campaign relies on the support of everyday Chicagoans giving whatever they can, whenever they can. So, can we count on YOU to help push Chicago forward by chipping in today? Anything counts!

Thank you for your support,
