It’s been a big week for Team MGS!
On Monday I shared with you two of my personal heroes for Women’s History Month — Sister Mary Scullion and Hawa Abdallah Mohammed Salih. They have been at the front of my mind, especially this month.
On Tuesday, my team and I officially filed our petitions to appear on the ballot! This is a critical part of the democratic process and we are so thrilled with the show of support across the district. Thank you all so much for signing, for donating to our petition effort, and for volunteering to collect signatures. We truly could not have done it without you!
On Thursday, I celebrated St. Patrick’s Day. Like so many Americans my ancestors came to America looking for a better life — I’m sure they never expected their great-great-great (etc.) granddaughter to become a United States Representative, going to the White House St. Patrick’s Day reception with the President! Today I am thinking of my Irish family who, in coming to the United States, helped me accomplish things I never could have imagined.
It’s been a great week! If you can spare a bit of your pot of gold, donate to the campaign here. We’re in the home stretch and we need all the lucky charms we can get! 🍀
Our campaign is heating up — next week is sure to be just as packed. Before I head into the weekend, I want to thank you again for your support. It is an honor to fight alongside you for an America that lives up to the dream that led my ancestors here.
Sincerely,
Mary Gay
