Report: 2021 benchmarks for email marketing

The average email open rate increased by 3.5 percentage points to hit 21.5% in 2021 and the average click-to-open rate dropped 3.6 percentage points to reach 10.5%, according to analysis by Campaign Monitor of 100 billion emails sent on its platforms. The analysis, which attributes the changes to Apple's new Mail Privacy Protection feature, also reveals email marketing benchmarks by the day of week and by industry, with advertising and marketing averaging open rates of 20.5%.
