John,
In 1972, the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) was passed through Congress with well over the required 2/3 majority vote and sent to the states. And in 2020, Virginia voted to become the 38th (and last needed) state to meet the three-quarter state ratification requirement.
So why are we still waiting for equal protection under the law? Lawmakers in Virginia have decided that their decision came too late, and rendered it null.
John, as federal lawmakers fight for a new resolution affirming the validity of the ERA as the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, we need your help to send a message that we deserve equal legal rights for all American citizens regardless of sex.
Stand with us and add your name to demand that Congress pass this resolution and further advance the ratification of the ERA to the Constitution.
It’s time to create consistency in the ways that laws apply to us regardless of sex, including as they pertain to anti-discrimination, divorce, property, employment, menstrual equity, and so much more. We need the ERA to ensure that we all have access to the same foundational freedoms.
We need your voice with ours.
Thank you for standing with us,
#VOTEPROCHOICE
