Dear John,

Like Clark Kent in a phone booth (only cuter), Clark the dog has made a remarkable transformation.

He came to us an extremely fearful pup, not wanting to go on walks or stray far from home. But with the help of PAWS Chicago trainers, volunteers and a new adopter, Clark is now a happy cuddler and confident running companion. He practically flies.

Clark is just one of many adult dogs over 40 pounds who found new homes during our Big Love adoption events. And there are still so many more! If you’re ready to fall in love, you can meet all our larger pups online. Click here ([link removed]) for pups 40–60 pounds and here ([link removed]) for pups 60+ pounds.

** Follow-Up: Jubilee's in Foster Care!
------------------------------------------------------------

After receiving urgent treatment at the Medical Center for a fractured leg and partial tail amputation, Jubilee was diagnosed with a dangerous, contagious illness called panleukopenia. Weeks later, she’s making remarkable progress with one of our most dedicated fosters, Lisa Printen, a nurse who has helped 290 cats and kittens over the past nine years.

** Volunteer of the Month: Andrea DiTommaso
------------------------------------------------------------

Andrea started volunteering with PAWS Chicago last October. Since then, she’s
graduated as a Level 2 volunteer at Dog Town, helping train and socialize our longer-term residents. Her favorite part of the job? “There's a moment when you're introducing an adopter to their potential new dog, and it just clicks.”

** One Choice Can Save Thousands
------------------------------------------------------------

The way dogs and cats can multiply so quickly is daunting. The average litter for a dog or cat is five babies. Cats can give birth three times a year and dogs two times a year. Multiply that by a lifetime. Multiply that by the entire population of un-spayed and un-neutered dogs and cats. And...holy furballs. We've got a problem. But we also have a solution.

** PAWS In The News
------------------------------------------------------------

Don’t miss this Block Club Chicago story about Whiskey, a 15-year-old senior Chihuahua mix suffering from dental infections so severe his entire face was swollen. See how our Community Medicine veterinary team saved his life by performing a three-hour emergency surgery for free.

** Animal Magnetism Attracted a Crowd
------------------------------------------------------------

Over 700 movers and their shakers (aka people and their pups) attended Animal Magnetism 2022! The event was presented by Tito’s Handmade Vodka in support of homeless pets.

A special performance by the Windy City Gay Chorus and Treble Quire kicked off the evening, setting an electric tone for our live auction. And after raising critical funds for pets in need, we celebrated the only way we know how: drinks, dinner, and dog dancing.

Thanks to all who attended for making this year’s celebration one for the record books! Don’t forget to check out all the pics our pup-parazzi captured.

** A Tale of Two Puppies
------------------------------------------------------------

Titan and Timaru were just two months old when they came to PAWS Chicago from an overrun shelter in Arkansas. These tiny tadpoles have since been vaccinated, neutered, fostered, and adopted. Take a look at them enjoying their new homes.
