John
It’s been almost a month since the fence went back up around the Capital, and U.S. Capitol Police still haven’t given Reverend Patrick Mahoney access to basic First Amendment rights.
Sacred rights that are guaranteed to us by the Constitution are being ignored and denied by the U.S. Capitol Police Board for no legitimate reason.
And now, with Good Friday less than a month away, Rev. Patrick Mahoney is STILL being denied permission to hold a small, peaceful prayer service outside on Capitol grounds to pray for our nation and our leaders, just as he has done for years.
The left claims that they’re not allowing a religious assembly to ensure people’s safety... but there is NO THREAT posed by a peaceful prayer service.
You and I know that safety is not what they care about.
They care about how much power they can wield and what they can get way with, and they don’t care whose rights they have to trample.
That’s why the Capitol Police Board approves permit applications—for gatherings on the same area that Rev. Mahoney applied to use to pray—when “sponsored” or approved of by members of Congress as if members of Congress have the power to be the gatekeeper to the First Amendment picking winners and losers.
And that’s why I hope you’ll sign the “LET THEM PRAY” petition today.
Just follow this link to sign! LET THEM PRAY!
Thanks,

From: Harmeet Dhillon Date: Tuesday, February, 23rd Subject: The fence has gone back up John, U.S. Capitol Police Board announced plans to re-erect the fence around the U.S. Capitol ahead of Biden’s March 1st State of the Union Address and ahead of a U.S. trucker convoy—en route to DC—protesting continued vaccine mandates and COVID-19 restrictions.
And now for a second year in a row, Capitol Police have denied Rev. Pat Mahoney’s request to hold his annual Good Friday service on the Capitol lawn.
John, there is simply no good reason for this at all.
There are no legitimate “security” concerns.
And yet, American citizens are STILL being denied the basic right of Free Speech on U.S. Capitol grounds.
It’s time for you and me to take a stand and tell Nancy Pelosi that the Capitol Police Board that the First Amendment is not a mere suggestion—it is the law!
Which is why the Center for American Liberty is seeking injunctive relief in federal court to stop the U.S. Capitol Police Board from violating Rev. Mahoney’s constitutional rights.
But I want to invite you to raise your voice with us.
As you may remember, Capitol Police prohibited Rev. Mahoney’s peaceful prayer service last year too – a prayer service he had been holding for decades without an issue.
But even after the fence surrounding the Capitol was removed last summer, restrictions on Free Speech remained.
John, if our politicians won’t follow the Constitution, then our freedoms don’t exist.
No one should be able to pick and choose who is allowed access to practice their rights in the public square.
No politician or bureaucrat – not Nancy Pelosi, not ANYONE.
We cannot allow our freedoms of religion and speech and be so blatantly trampled.
That’s why the Center for American Liberty exists.
And that’s why I hope you’ll add your name to our “LET THEM PRAY” petition.
We’re not going to sit idly by while the radical left destroys our freedoms.
Over the last two years, we’ve gone to the mat for our rights, and won.
So, I hope you’ll continue to stand with us as we wade into another legal battle for the freedom of religion.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Sincerely,
Harmeet K. Dhillon Please consider supporting our efforts to defend our Constitution with a donation today.
