The expansion of the Child Tax Credit that we fought so hard to secure is one of those measures – and its expiration at the end of last year has already caused child poverty to spike 40% in 2022.The passage of the American Rescue Plan was a historic achievement. It brought relief to millions of Americans suffering the economic hardship of the pandemic. But we cannot allow the gains we made slip away.
