I’m fighting for climate action, because frankly, there’s no back-up plan for our planet.
I’m proud of the progress we’ve made on climate recently to strengthen our country’s climate resilience and make big investments in a clean-energy economy while creating millions of good jobs.
I’m spearheading bills that would protect our natural environment -- from our coral reefs to our forests -- and I introduced legislation to prepare our financial system for climate change. (Because that’s the reality -- climate change will affect everything from labor and the stock market to property values and agriculture.)
And I’m working on measures to reduce emissions, meet our country’s climate goals, and support communities of color and indigenous communities that are disproportionately impacted by climate change.

Climate action is a top priority for me, because the cost of inaction is too great. I know it’s a top priority for many of my colleagues in Congress, too.
But at the same time, Senate Republicans released their plan for the future of our country. Does it talk about addressing this existential threat to our planet? No.
Instead, Senate Republicans’ proposed plan would raise taxes on over 100 million Americans -- largely seniors, working people, and low-income Americans.
Seriously -- that’s their plan.
