We’re celebrating the historic nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first Black woman ever nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Judge Jackson has the exceptional qualifications and commitment to justice for all that our nation needs and deserves to have on the Supreme Court for decades to come. She spent much of her career working to achieve civil rights and justice and has a demonstrated record of upholding our constitutional rights and fundamental freedoms, including reproductive freedom. It is because of her record, her experience, and her integrity that NARAL is doing everything we can to ensure the Senate confirms Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Court but we can’t do it without your help, John.

Judge Jackson would be the first Black woman ever to serve on the Supreme Court—a victory for equality that is long overdue. Her historic nomination comes at a pivotal moment for our movement given the direct challenge to Roe v Wade sitting before the Court. While her confirmation will not change the outcome of the case currently before the Court, her presence will shape the Court in the decades to come.
